Thank you Mr. Obama

I could be writing about my friend Kristi in Vietnam, or Hanoi under water, or the holiday I'm on with Ryan in Phu Quoc and I will eventually get to those, but something momentous has just happened and I have to write about it...and I will write about it in a letter:

Dear Mr. B. Obama,

Last night I dreamt of your name in big letters across the top of major newspapers. I dreamt of your victory. I woke in the middle of the night and found it difficult to fall back asleep. I couldn't get it out of my head that you could quite possibly be the next president of the United States of America.

Finally, this morning I discovered that what I had dreamed actually came true! You are going to be the 44th president of the USA! You will end the nightmare that we have been living for the past eight years. I have never felt more proud of my country in my entire life. My body vibrated with elation! The sky has never appeared bluer, nor the air fresher than this day.

I feel like "we" accomplished something important and true. We need change and you have been the light who has brought hope and inspiration to so many Americans as well as the citizens of other countries.

The first year is going to be a doosey, so whatever you need please don't hesitate to ask.

Most graciously,

Jessica G.

P.S. You can bet your bum that I voted for you all the way out here in Vietnam!

Did you happen to see the article about how an unprecedent number of homeless people came out to vote this election year? Many registered using the homeless shelters as addresses although legally they could also use any street corner address. All because of Obama. Truly touching!
